Who can believe it is already Halloween?

This year has flown by however we have seen

Hair-raising tribunal claims due to mishandling of cases

Rail, A&E and junior doctor strikes in their workplaces

 

We had the King’s coronation and an extra day off

And ended up with quite a few people with a cough

Covid is the fourth highest reason for being off work

And continues to add pressure to others’ casework

 

Average absence rates have continued to rise

Our summer was a wash-out but that’s no surprise

The rugby world cup gave us reason to cheer

With some shock departures harder to bear

 

Employees can often be such a delight

But when they misbehave, we get a fright

Look after your people, they aren’t all monsters

With them engaged your company prospers

 

The cost of living crisis continues to be scary

Leaving our employees feeling weary

Let them come to work in fancy dress costume

To keep at bay the doom and gloom

 

HR people are often called the grim reaper’

But we help companies by being the gatekeeper
